Support Mental Health &
Suicide Prevention/Intervention Education

Further Reasons Why...

Research shows that suicide is preventable. Early Intervention Saves Lives!

The #1 prevention for suicide is community and connection.

Research by NIMH also shows that people are the most vulnerable to died by suicide 3 months AFTER a period of improvement.

This is the gap Make Mental Health Matter is working to fill. With your help we provide the community, connection and conversation.

According to the CDC:

  • 1 in 25 Americans lives with a serious mental illness, such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression.

Mental health education is crucial to saving lives because it equips individuals with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize, understand, and address mental health issues. By raising awareness about mental health conditions, their symptoms, and available resources, education helps reduce stigma and encourages early intervention. It empowers individuals to identify signs of distress in themselves and others, promoting timely access to support and treatment.

Furthermore, education fosters empathy and understanding, creating a supportive environment where people feel safe to seek help without fear of judgment or discrimination. By promoting mental health literacy, education plays a vital role in preventing crises, reducing suicide rates, and ultimately saving lives.

Education saves lives! We are saving lives through education and making hard conversations easy.
